“Travel is an investment in yourself” – such a correct sentence it is. Travelling to a new place always gives us a fresh perspective and broadens the knowledge about the outer world. Taking us out of our comfort zones and inspiring us to see, taste and try new things is the basic feature of travelling. It definitely adds a new character and gives us exposure to the existing knowledge of an individual.

Despite having a busy lifestyle, I and my family managed to arrange some trips to the outer places in various times from 2015 to 2019. Starting from West Bengal of India to another few states of there and then to one of the most developed countries of Asia which is Singapore, I have travelled a lot within a few years. This has fulfilled my curiosity towards the unknown to some extent. All the places have beauty of their own nature and sculptures. It has fascinated me to such extent that I want to travel more and discover the unknown. The thirst of travelling in a way encourages me to work hard and make myself capable for affording I dream of.

Places visited so far in India:

Darjeeling: The Queen of Hills

Darjeeling is a beautiful town in the in the northernmost region of the Indian state of West Bengal. It is a hilly area with high range mountains from where Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain of the world is prominently visible. I visited Darjeeling in January 2017. It was a 3 day tour there. Some of the memorable places I visited there were The Tiger Hill (from where the Kanchenjunga, Mount Everest are visible), Rock Garden, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, museum and their local market. Rock garden was deep downtown where the waterfalls and lake added to the beauty of green mountains. Every place visited there was thrilling because it was either up or down the mountains and had to pass narrow hilly roads. The park tour was really adventurous since the bears were kept open and they seemed harmless. The Red Panda I saw there was an utter amazing thing which I never saw before. The toy train of Darjeeling is a tourist attraction there since people can ride into those within a limited place. I also experienced snowfall for the first time there making my experience filled with immense happiness.

Kolkata: The City of Joy

Kolkata is the capital of India’s West Bengal state. It is known mainly for its grand colonial architecture, art galleries and cultural festivals. The main language of Kolkata is Bengali so it’s easy for Bangladeshis to communicate there. Among the many monuments and historic places of Kolkata involves Victoria Memorial which is dedicated to the memory of Queen Victoria, Empress of India from 1876 to 1901. It is the largest monument to a monarch anywhere in the world which stands in 64 acres of gardens. It possesses prominent features of the British architecture and the outer region of it is full of greenery and beauty. It’s a place where I got to know about many of the British cultures and their colonial rule in India.

The Howrah Bridge is a balanced
cantilever bridge over the Hooghly River in West BengalIndia commissioned in 1943. It is a steel bridge and the howrah junction is near to it. Another great place to visit in Kolkata is the Science City. It is a science center in Kolkata which includes science museums, science parks and auditoriums making it the largest science center in Kolkata. It has an Earth Exploration Hall, Space Odyssey, maritime center making it a center of attraction visitors. It was an amazing experience vising there and exploring many of the scientific factors which I never knew existed. I also visited some other places there and it became a beautiful memory visiting there though there are some drawbacks of the city like excessive crowd, pollution and traffic jam. Another thing I observed was the tram on the roads which are the culture from the British time and the rickshaw pulling style which was really hard for the puller. I also roamed around the local markets of kolkata trying street foods along with doing some shopping. The foods of Kolkata surely lived upto my expectations since they are known for their great food culture

Bangalore: Silicon Valley of India

It is the capital of India’s southern Karnataka state. I visited there on December of 2016 but it was a short trip limited to very few places. Among the places in Bangalore I loved the most the Lalbagh Botanical Garden. It was a mixture of beauty and history of almost 200 years. The trees and plants with the glass house made it an ornamental place of plants and flowers. Such a place of greenery is rare in the present world.

Chennai: Detroit of India

It is the capital of Tamil Nadu, the southernmost Indian state formerly known as Madras. Chennai is prominently known for its contribution in the medical field as some of the best medical institutions are there. It is also a city surrounded by sea which enriches its beauty to another level.  The literacy rate there is so impressive and the politeness of the people is a heartwarming scene. There are various places which caught my attention and I visited those with my family creating many beautiful memories. The Marina beach, VGP Golden beach, Snow kingdom, Chennai Light House, Vivekananda House are the most exciting places of my visit. Some has historical point of view while the other is a great structure for recreation. The lighthouse gave the view of the whole city which I found so exciting. The snow kingdom gave us a feel of the winter countries which was an etheral experience.

Singapore: The Lion City/Garden City

Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is an island country and city-state in maritime Southeast Asia. Singapore is famous for being a global financial center, being among the most densely populated places in the world, having a world-class city airport with a waterfall, and a Botanic Garden that is a World Heritage Site. Its sites like the Marina Bay Sands, Garden by the Bay, Cloud Forest, Flower Dome, Sentosa Island have beautiful features which enhance the beauty and architecture of the city to an amazing extent. Gardens by the bay has one of the largest cactus collection between the Sun Pavilion and Succulent Garden in Flower Dome. It was such an amazing sight which cannot be expressed in words. From the smallest to the largest cactus looked so thrilling yet within an outstanding beauty.

Fig: Moments captured at different places

Being highly developed, the city of Singapore took my breath away for a moment and the safety of the city amazed me. They have a place called China town which is the habitat of most Chinese people living there and Chinese items are found there. The city can easily be travelled through metro rails which was another new experience for me. Within just 1 week tour the country amazed me with its everything. It is another wish of mine to visit there again and again since it’s such a beautiful city with so many wonderful things. i also got on the top floor of the Marina Bay Sands which is on the 57th floor and enjoyed the night view of the city. The lights of the city on night from that height looked like stars on the ground. The Super groove Trees are an amazing sight where we got into a lift and walked from one groove to another within the beautiful trees and lights. It felt like i was in another world where nothing but beauty reigns

Travelling to all these places definitely left a great effect on the mind with the prominent cultures of all those places and interacting with people from different states. But like everything travelling also requires to look after some issues like language barrier, mindset of people, travel expenses etc. If we want to make a travel memorable then vising a place with proper time is required otherwise hectic schedule doesn’t let us enjoy our time. Even if we faced some difficulties still the travelling was worth it and I’m ready to get through many troubles to explore the planet
